A press release shared by Bitcoinist reveals that major car manufacturer KIA launched a US-based non-fungible token campaign (NFTs). The campaign, called “Built for Whoever You are”, was developed in collaboration with David&Goliath. It is a landmark for digital asset adoption.

NFTs will emphasize the “individuality” of Kia Soul’s model 2023. A 30-second spot will be broadcast with NFTs featuring as the main characters. They take a trip aboard a Kia Soul to explore a city.

The 30-second spot will provide a QR code that viewers can scan to gain access to the collection. Sweet NFT will support the digital asset collections. Each NFT will be unique because it is high-quality and computer-generated in 3D.

Russel Wager, Vice-President of Market for KIA America stated the following about this announcement and why NFTs make a great fit for the Kia Soul.

Soul’s iconic design, adaptability, versatility, and advanced technology helped redefine the small-car market. It was launched in 2009, and has continued to evolve to appeal to all generations of customers with its unique looks, practicality, efficiency . As individualistic as NFTs, the Soul is as unique as Kia. Kia, as a brand is constantly innovating to stay at the forefront of technology.

The total number of items in the NFT marketing campaign and collection will include 10,100 items each with a Kia it. According to the press release, each item will be inspired from the 2023 Kia Soul. Sweet CEO and founder Tom Mizzone said:

It’s an important milestone in mass adoption because it marks the first NFT drops embedded into a national TV ad. It will be seen by millions, many of them experiencing Web3 for their first time.

Sweet, the platform that will help Kia with her NFT collection, has worked in multiple sectors with large companies from the legacy financial system. McLaren Racing, Old Navy and the legendary musician Elton John have partnered with the platform. Ben Purcell, Chief Creative Officer at David&Goliath, added:

We want our work to be as ingenious as the vehicles. We thought it would be great if we were the first to ride a few NFTs. Living, breathing, and driving like never before (…). The DASK skeletons, who are open to individuality, are the best people to capture the soul driver multihyphenate Soul driver.

In the past, Kia ventured into the Web3 and digital asset sectors. The company launched the NFT collection “Robo-Dog”, in partnership with Sweet, in February 2022. Proceeds from this collection were donated to The Petfinder Foundation which helps shelter animals find permanent homes.
