This lawsuit was filed Friday, hours after Musk was given an order to start a trial on Oct. 17 in order to determine whether he can cancel the deal. Twitter sued Musk July 12th to force him to purchase the platform for $44 billion. Musk had accepted his takeover offer in April.
Reuters reported that Elon Musk sued Twitter in his legal battle against a $44 Billion takeover. The lawsuit was confidentially filed.
Although the document was sealed, it may soon be released in a redacted form.
The lawsuit was filed Friday, hours after Musk’s five-day trial, which was scheduled to start on Oct. 17, to determine whether he can walk away from the deal.
Musk requested to withdraw from the deal to buy Twitter on July 8. This was in response to a dispute with Twitter about the number of fake accounts. Twitter estimated that 5% were fake accounts in a May filing.
