HTC Desire 22 Pro is preloaded with Viperse apps that allow you to navigate the metaverse, manage your crypto and NFTs, and more. HTC, a smartphone manufacturer, has launched the first HTC “Viverse” phone. It is compatible with HTC’s metaverse platform. It also incorporates crypto and NFT functionality.

Preloaded apps allow you to access and manage your metaverse content including NFTs and crypto from the HTC Desire 22 Pro. An announcement said that Viverse allows you to buy NFTs on a digital marketplace and “create a virtual space” using the app.

As with previous HTC “cryptophones”, the Desire 22 Pro comes with a built-in crypto wallet to store Ethereum or Polygon assets.

This device can be used in conjunction with HTC’s Vive Flow VR headset. It has HDCP 2.2 connectivity that allows you to wirelessly mirror content. A Vive Manager app lets you manage and set up your VR hardware.

In a statement that was released with the announcement, Shen Ye, Global Head Product at HTC, stated that the smartphone “opens up new immersive experiences as a perfect partner for VIVEFlow–whether it’s meeting colleagues in VR or enjoying your private cinema anywhere you’re,”

Specs are appealing
The HTC Desire 22 Pro is a mid-range device that HTC claims can be a challenge to the best Android and iPhone devices.

It features a 6.6-inch Gorilla glass display with 1080×2412-pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon695 5G and 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage.

A 4,520 mAh battery keeps the device going with Qi wireless charging functionality and fast charging.

As with all modern smartphones, there are a variety of cameras available to take photos. The Desire 22 Pro has a 64-megapixel main camera with an ultrawide lens (f/1.79), 13-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 5-megapixel depth-sensing sensor (f/2.4). A 32-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 is for taking selfies.

Video shooting includes image stabilization, night mode and 120fps slow motion capture.

The HTC and Cryptophones
HTC was an early adopter crypto technology.

It produced the Exodus1 smartphone in 2018 with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet and the ability run a full Bitcoin Node.

The Exodus 1s was soon followed by the smaller Exodus 1s ; shortly after its launch, Phil Chen, the company’s “chief deputy central officer”, told , “in five year it will be trivial for you to have a Bitcoin Node or other blockchain Nodes stored on your smartphone.”

We’re still not there yet, three years later. However, Samsung, a rival manufacturer, has provided a secure element to store crypto private keys on its devices since then.

In recent years HTC has lost ground to smartphone rivals, and instead focuses on its Vive virtual reality headsets.

It’s attempting to combine its blockchain phone credentials and its VR product line with the Desire 22 Pro to claim the title of the first metaverse smartphone. HTC’s window for opportunity is shrinking with Apple, which is reportedly preparing an AR/VR headset to be released next year.
