According to a press release, Jared Shaw has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by Animoca Brands, a prominent NFT and metaverse investor.
Shaw, who spent more than three years at Gemini’s Head Finance, joins Animoca.
Shaw joined the Hong Kong-based company from cryptocurrency exchange Gemini where he was Head of Finance.
“Jared brings a wealth experience in audit, asset management and crypto. Evan Auyang (president of Animoca Brands) said that he joined us during a time when our finance team is expanding rapidly and building strong capabilities.
Animoca Brands heavily invests in metaverse projects and NFTs
Animoca Brands continues to be prolific in its metaverse investments in this year. They led several rounds of funding including a $32 Million Series A for Planetarium Labs.
Animoca reported a valuation of $5.9B earlier in the year. Animoca raised $110M more on Sep. 12, , in a round managed by Temasek. True Global Ventures 4 Plus participated in the round with an \$38 Million investment.
