Kalush Orchestra, winners of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 are selling an NFT to charity. The auction will run until May 28th on MetaHistory, the official Ukrainian charity NFT museum. The auction will accept both fiat and cryptocurrency bids (via Monobank), creating friendly competition to see which currency brings the most donations.

NFT Auction Kalush Orchestra Ukraine
The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 was held in Turin, Italy on May 14. The contest was watched by 161 million people in 34 markets. 18 million people also watched it online via YouTube and TikTok. Kalush Orchestra’s Stefania was chosen as the winner. The band is now bidding for donations to Ukraine.

The NFT can be purchased with cryptocurrency. It comes with a unique digital NFT file that includes a microphone and Kalush Orchestra. A dinner and exclusive meeting with Kalush Orchestra members. You will also have the opportunity to get the Crystal Microphone as a physical object, provided that the bid is not lower than the fiat currency.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the European Broadcasting Union, which is the association of broadcasters responsible for the organization of the Eurovision Song Contest, support the raffle initiative. The CO Charitable Foundation Serhiy Prytula will receive all proceeds.

40 countries took part in this popular European cultural event. Russia was not included in Eurovision this year. The Ukrainian song won the contest by a wide margin. It was also the first song written entirely in Ukrainian. It is widely believed that the voters of it supported the music of Kalush Orchestra and the struggles of the country as a whole.

Both the Ukrainian people and government have adopted crypto donations and NFTs to raise support in ways that were not possible before the events of the past three months. Crystal, an analytical group, stated that crypto donations to Ukraine during the war were the most significant in history. This amount was more than $82million as of May 12, 2022. It’s therefore not surprising that Ukraine was the first to mint the NFT trophy “Crystal Microphone” for Europe.

Alona Shevchenko co-founder of Ukraine DAO, says that Web3 “allows you to pool funds in extraordinary ways.” The NFT of Ukraine’s flag was launched by Ukraine DAO and sold for $6.5M in ETH. It is now the 10th most expensive NFT.

Rev Miller, who is one of the founding partners for Unchain Fund, said that “the last three months have shown how powerful Web3 can be when it comes down to fighting for human liberty”. Unchain Fund has raised approximately $10m in crypto so far across 15 blockchains.

“MetaHistory stands for any undertakings or efforts to collect a charity support for Ukraine. It is a historic trophy with the precedent of its minting that causes only admiration for MH teams.” comments VK, founder and CEO of MetaHistory.
